Truly disappointing for me.
I'd be better off eating thai food at some stall instead of here.
But I didn't have much. IF there's something here that's recommendable, please inform me
I always judge a thai place according to their Tom Yam. Good tomyam means good food
The Tom Yam Goong Noodles I had didn't taste like any kind of Tom Yam. Plus, they had bean sprouts in the soup. I've never had Tom Yam with bean sprouts. What were they thinking?! (I don't like bean sprouts!)
The myThai sampler was okay.
The fried rice tasted like stall quality - the nice kind tho'.
And thankfully, you can't go wrong with dessert.

One Bangsar

This was during the foodfest of every Saturday in August.
We visited each house and sampled their food. Interesting concept! All for RM 28++. Pretty good bargain.
Just had to bring your big, empty tummy

Business Hrs: Daily, lunch (11.30am-3pm); dinner (6.30pm-10pm).
Okay. Went here unexpected. My BF brought me here and I was lucky enough to have brought along my camera. But due to the low lights of the restaurant, the pictures aren't so nice. Also, I can't quote the item and price. Sorry.

Rama V
|
|
Facing the US Embassy (Jln Ampang)
Nice, cosy restaurant
Service was okay. Not so friendly and professional waiters.
Food was yummy!!! But quite pricey.
Chor Ladda - Flower shaped dumplings stuffed with minced chicken (I'm not much into dumplings but the filling was nice).
Nam Prik Rama V - Northern style chilli paste with Rama V spice dip. Minced chicken accompanied by Fresh Garden Veggies (the dip was nice but we could've forego this order).
Pla Sam Lee Dad Deow - Deep fried Cotton Fish with Mango Salad (splendid. love the fish. and the mango salad - superb!)
Tom Yam Talay - Tom Yam Seafood served in Young Coconut (Yummy!! It had a minty flavor to it which was weird until we ate it together with the coconut flesh).
Tab Tim Krob - my fave waterchesnut in coconut milk dessert.
Conclusion : I'd go there again to try the other Tom Yams. I'm sure just one order of tom yam and rice is sufficient

Ambience: Romantic. It's atop a jungle's edge and you can hear crickets as you stroll down the candle-lit walkway to the restaurant. The place is quite secluded and peaceful. Certainly THE place to woo a girl
Food: I loved the Tamarind Platter. All of it was yummy! The sauces too
The main dish was quite a filler for two. Therefore, I would recommend to go with a group of close friends. That way, you can order more dishes and share. There were so many choices that I had a hard time choosing!
Service: The waiters were nice and their outfits were cute, but it took quite some time to prepare the food. However, I guess that makes it the ideal spot to have long, private conversations.
Conclusion: Go check it out!

They had a wide range of food for their starters, main dishes = sandwiches, pie + tart, pasta, and dessert.
Pricing:
Breakfast = breakfast + orange juice + coffee/tea RM 25++
2 courses = starter or dessert + main RM 35++
3 courses = starter + main + dessert RM 45++
========
It was all okay. Meaning I wouldn't wanna go back there again.
If you've been there and had a dish that is recommended, pray tell

Las Carretas
|
|
The menu was extensive! hafta go there again and try other things!!
Nachos - the free nachos were also nice. didn't know we'd be getting some on the house, so we ordered some Muchos Nachos. that's a lot of nachos in one sitting!
Sopa De Rabo - Spicy oxtail soup served in a thick broth along with a piece of lime. also nice.
Crema Champinones - imported button mushrooms from Holland. nice.
Las Carretas Wings - nothing special. tastes like those ayamas drummets.
Muchos Nachos - crisp totilla chips gratinated w/jalapenos, bell pepper relish, enchilada sauce & loads of cheese and shredded chicken. yum!
Deep-Fried Mexican Ice Cream - Normal fried ice cream but I've always loved fried ice-cream (even the ones that you can buy from the pasar). However, this one is hinted with cinnamon powder & caramel sauce. yum!
Boca Chica - Layered coffee-flavored sponge served w/vanilla ice cream & chocolate sauce along w/a dash of cinnamon & cointreau. it's okay.
Home Made Brownies - served w/vanilla ice cream & whipped cream. also okay.
Flan De Coco - done the traditional way in Mexico & Spain. A sweet mexican custar w/caramel & dessicated coconut topped with whipped cream. interesting but way too much coconut-ty for moi.
